The Little Prince
By: Antoine De Saint Exupery
Science Fiction

A golden haired little prince finds himself in a vast Sahara where his pilot has unfortunately landed because of engine problems. The pilot is frantically trying to mend the aircraft because he doesn’t have supplies to survive for very long. The boy politely asks the piolet to draw him a sheep. The piolet makes numerous attempts to draw this sheep, and pleases the boy after drawing a box that the sheep is inside.
The piolet then gets to know the little prince better hearing his stories about traveling and where he lives. He learns about the asteroid the little prince lives upon. He learns that the little prince has a fondness of a rose.
The rose tells lies and makes the prince unhappy, so the little prince decided to leave the planet where the rose dwelt. He later explains his journeys from asteroid to asteroid. Each only having one sole inhabitant. The little prince finds out that the Earth has tons of roses and is astonished. The prince soon encounters a desert fox who convinces him to return home to the rose to give his life meaning.

This is a wonderful and cute little story for children to read. I would think this is for children around 3rd-4th grade. I would use this in my classroom for a fun book for students to read. I think it is good poetical writing that could also teach students how to write well.
