The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Eric Carle
Laura Ingalls Wilder Award

This is a simple tale about a caterpillar who eats his way through the week. On the first day he ate through one apple, on the second day he ate through two pears, so on and so forth. Finally, after all week he was no longer hungry! He built himself a cocoon, and turned into a beautiful butterfly.

How could you not love this book? The artwork is tremendous, and creative. The pages get bigger and bigger as you go through the days of the week and the hungry caterpillar eats more and more. This is a great way to teach students a variety of things such as counting, days of the week, and the life of a caterpillar. This book is great for students 2+.
